Why RIDE?
55% of people from ethnic minority groups who currently do not cycle would like to start cycling. The recent Sustran report highlights that a lack of confidence, security, and financial situations are just some barriers that prevent ethnic minorities and other disadvantaged communties from cycling. In order to address these barriers, Outdoor Connections has created the R.I.D.E program to work towards reducing inequalities within thee sport of cycling.

An ally.not a savior.
Outdoor Connections comes as an Ally not as a Savior.
We seek to understand individual experience and support riders if uncomfortable situations arise. We encourage dialogue between clubs, riders, and other members of our community who are willing to share and listen about the importance of inclusion and diversity in the sport of cycling.
